A Potential Solution Against the Soot Has Been Found in Kyzyl

The issue of pollution by the compulsive use of the coal is very acute in Kyzyl. The local governments are actively seeking the ways to solve this problem. One possible solution is a solid fuel modifier powder.

Karim Sagaan-ohol, Mayor of Kyzyl, promptly arranged the first tests at the boiler stations at various levels. This event was attended by staffers of the Municipality, the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Forestry of Tajikistan, and the Association of Engineers of Tuvan State University.

The powder was inspected in three furnaces. The first study on a domestic furnace confirmed that when the mixture was added during the heating, the smoke from a chimney came out white, the amount of ash decreased and the level of carbon dioxide dropped by half. At the second and third sites, where industrial furnaces were used, the powder also had a positive effect. Mayor Karim Sagaan-ool set a task to consider options for introducing the product.
