Yekaterinburg has been at the top ranking of the best cities in the world 10 times over the last year

Ratings of world and federal publications included Yekaterinburg in the top list of cities with best socio-economic indicators and convenience for life no less than 10 times in 2012.

It has 54 floors and is the most northern skyscraper in the world.

Yekaterinburg left Moscow and St. Petersburg far behind in the ranking of the best cities for business according to Forbes magazine. The capital of the Ural was among the leaders in the list of cities “with the least administrative pressure, tolerant to business tax officials, affordable finance”.

Yekaterinburg has also won in the election of an alternative capital of Russia organized by “Russian Reporter” magazine. There was a total of 77 candidacies. Yekaterinburg was voted for by nearly a quarter of the electorate.

Yekaterinburg became one of five Russian cities to visit, according to the website tripadvisor.ru. According to feedback from travelers, Yekaterinburg is a city for intellectual tourists, with a lot of libraries, museums, and unusual monuments.
