The stops “Chekistov Square”, “Theater of a Young Spectator” and “Tsaritsyn Opera” have been decorated with the works by Volgograd artists Alexandra Ovchinnikova, Valery Kasimirov and Alina Zaremba, reflecting the uniqueness of the city’s culture and architecture. The paintings depict views of the city, as well as Volga landscapes. Also, at the stop pavilions, the information on the city transportation routes has been posted.
The art stops have been created as part of the State Transport Leasing Company to support young contemporary artists.
“The search for new symbols is an important process in realizing local identity, so it was very joyful and responsible to participate in the project to form them. The new symbols will direct the vector of thinking into the future, aimed at developing a multifaceted and growing city combining great history with vibrant modernity,” said Alexandra Ovchinnikova, author of the work.
