In early March, a Crimea delegation visited Venezuela, during which meetings were held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the local parliament, the Ministry of Transportation, as well as with the business community and compatriots living in Venezuela. As part of the Crimea delegation, the meetings were attended by Georgy Muradov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation, Irina Kiviko, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, Yanina Pavlenko, Head of the Yalta Administration, and others.

One of the meetings took place on Wednesday, March 5, where Georgi Muradov and Yanina Pavlenko met with Alex Saab, Minister of Industry and National Production. Among the priority topics discussed were the possibility of concluding agreements with port cities and the signing of a twinning agreement between Yalta and La Guaira.

The following day, the Government of the State of La Guaira and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea of the Russian Federation signed a protocol of intentions, marking the beginning of a broad bilateral cooperation. The protocol establishes cooperation in such strategic areas as tourism, economy, trade, information exchange, culture, education, sports, health care and youth policy, among others.

Georgi Muradov expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given to José Alejandro Terán, Governor of La Guaira, and José Manuel Suárez, Mayor of La Guaira.

From the very beginning, we felt a sincere friendship and a burning desire to strengthen cooperation in all aspects with our Republic of Crimea, which represents the Russian Federation ... We want to convey to the people of La Guaira the best wishes of our people, the people of Crimea, and the Russian Federation. We are becoming closer and closer brothers”, - noted Georgy Muradov.

For his part, Governor Terán added that the signing of these twinning protocols of intent, as had been done with cities such as Shenzhen and Gaziantep, was a reflection of the desire for a multipolar and balanced world.
