At a briefing in the city communications service, Kuandyk Beksultan, Deputy Head of the Department of Digitalization and Public Services of Astana, told about the results of the work done in 2024.
According to the representative of the department, in 2024, 15039 cameras were installed in Astana, of which a significant part was integrated with the Operational Control Center of the Police.
The “iKOMEK109” contact center became a real support for citizens of the capital. Last year, specialists of the center processed more than 2,2 million appeals and 438 thousand incidents. Every day the center receives from 5 to 8 thousand applications, 82% of which are solved from the first call.
The city services center “QalaQyzmet” provided more than 200,000 services during the year. Today, residents can receive 120 types of services both in the center’s offices and through online platforms, including the “Portal 1414”.
Additionally, the Birge city portal has been launched. It processes applications and provides consultations for citizens. More than 30,000 applications and 25,000 consultations have already been registered.
“The Smart Astana mobile application continues to integrate city life into every resident's smartphone. Today, the application offers 70 services, including payment of utility bills, doctor's appointments and other popular services. The number of active users in 2024 exceeded 30 thousand people, which indicates a growing interest in digital services.
In addition, STEM Olympiads are organized for the capital's schoolchildren, which have attracted more than 2 000 participants since 2018. In 2024, a new educational project “Capital No-Coders” was launched, where over 200 students were trained to create IT products without programming.
As part of the modernization of the Internet infrastructure in the capital, network coverage was provided at 22 sites and 262 5G base stations were installed. These steps are aimed at creating stable and fast internet access for residents and businesses,” Kuandyk Beksultan said.
One of the significant achievements of 2024 was the introduction of the international standard ISO 37120 that assesses the quality of life and sustainable development of cities. Astana was assessed on 128 indicators in 19 key areas, including education, health, economy and security.
“In 2024, we achieved significant results in digitalization. These achievements directly affect the quality of life of the city residents. Work on the introduction of innovative technologies will continue in 2025 to make Astana even a more comfortable and safe city”, said the Deputy Head of the Department.
