Mayor of Kirov Ilya Shulgin proposed his deputies, including the heads of territorial administrations, to spend part of the weekends cycling around urban areas.
The city manager himself weekly conducts bicycle and walking tours around the city’s districts monitoring the quality of maintenance of roads and sidewalks, public and courtyard territories.
“Yesterday I had a bicycle tour and realized that it is convenient in terms of time saving and mobility. It is easy to examine almost every corner with the help of a bicycle”, - noted Ilya Shulgin - “At the same time, during cycling rides all the problems of pedestrian areas are clearly visible”.
The Mayor’s deputies supported this initiative. This week the cycling routes for the next 4 Saturdays will be developed.
