Russian Delegation Visited UN-Habitat Office in Barcelona

Российская делегация посетила офис ООН-Хабитат в Барселоне

On 20 February 2025, during the Annual UCLG Retreat, a meeting of the Russian delegation with representatives of the UN-Habitat City Resilience Global Programme office in Barcelona (Spain) took place. The event was organized with the support of UN-Habitat in the Russian Federation. UCLG-Eurasia was represented at the meeting by delegations from the cities of Moscow and Rostov-on-Don. Esteban Leon, Head of the Programme, delivered a welcoming speech and introduced the participants to the activities of the Programme, ongoing and implemented projects. Among the completed initiatives, a publication prepared jointly with the city of Yakutsk was presented: “Recommendations for Action on Resilience and Sustainable Development”. The participants also discussed the next steps to establish mutual cooperation in the field of urban resilience.

UCLG-Eurasia was represented by Rasikh Sagitov, Secretary General of UCLG-Eurasia, Zinaida Neyarokhina, Mayor of Rostov-on-Don, Galina Skripka, Head of the Department of International and Inter-Municipal Relations, Protocol Events of the Rostov-on-Don City Duma, Evgeny Rudnev, Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and Inter-Municipal Cooperation of the Rostov-on-Don City Administration, Anastasia Sibileva, Head of the Division of International Relations, Department for External Economic and International Relations, Moscow, Ekaterina Astakhova, Deputy Head of the Division of Foreign Trade Analytics and Relations with International Organizations of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City of Moscow, Aleksandra Voronova, Consultant of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity, Galina Kolesnikova, UN-Habitat Project Coordinator in the Russian Federation, Tansylu Nurieva, Learning and Research Programmes Coordinator of UCLG-Eurasia.

Note: The City Resilience Global Programme (CRGP) was established in 2013 by UN-Habitat in response to the need to strengthen local capacities to build urban resilience through a multi-stakeholder, multi-sectoral, multi-hazard approach to urban systems that is accessible to all cities.
