On Friday, March 21, Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the Regional Day of the II All-Russian Municipal Forum “Small Motherland - the Power of Russia”. Rasikh Sagitov, Secretary General of UCLG-Eurasia, visited the forum, where he spoke on the topic of culture and the upcoming UCLG Culture Summit.
In addition, the Secretary General met with Ruslan Kukharuk, Governor of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra, Yakov Samokhvalov, Director of the Department of Youth Policy, Civic Initiatives and External Relations of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra, and Oksana Lungite, Executive Director of the Association “Council of Municipalities of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra”. They discussed the issues of heritage preservation and culture in general, areas of cooperation, upcoming UCLG events, reached an agreement to work on the inclusion of the cities of Yugra in the activities of UCLG-Eurasia. A meeting was also held with Elena Moldovan, Mayor of Muravlenko (YNAO), on the topic of Muravlenko’s participation in the UCLG-Eurasia’s activities.
Let us remind that the All-Russian Municipal Forum “Small Motherland – the Power of Russia” is an annual event that brings together representatives of local governments, business, experts to discuss topical issues of development of municipalities of the Russian Federation.
