The 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development was held in Bangkok from 24 to 28 February 2024 at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP).
The Asia-Pacific Forum included the Local and Regional Governments Forum, organized by the UCLG Asia-Pacific Section (UCLG-ASPAC). Cities from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Maldives, the Philippines, Micronesia, and other Asian countries participated as well.
One of the sessions was chaired by Ms. Armida Salciah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of ESCAP, and focused on the preparation of voluntary local and national reviews on sustainable development.
UCLG-Eurasia was represented by Saida Zagidullina, Director for Development of UCLG-Eurasia, at the meeting. The event resulted in reaching preliminary agreements on the ESCAP’s support to the process of preparation of voluntary local reviews in the cities of Eurasia.
