The UCLG Executive Bureau will take place at the headquarters of Mercosur during one single day, on 6 April, at the kind invitation of the Mayor of Montevideo and Vice-President of Mercociudades, Daniel Martínez.
Montevideo is a lively metropolis, which is home to almost 50% of the country's population, about 1.5 million people. Today, Montevideo is an ideal place for tourists – beautiful, extremely green and truly multifaceted. It is the industrial, political and cultural center of Uruguay, the city of amazing churches, various museums and theaters. This fabulous city enchants its guests with an amazing mix of architectural styles, gorgeous parks, gardens, and most importantly – an atmosphere of warmth, comfort and goodwill.
During the formal session of the UCLG Executive Bureau the participants will discuss the role of local governments in managing crises, production of the 5th GOLD Report and the Durban World Congress, which will take place this November.
This is back to back with the UCLG Culture Summit, taking place in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 3-5 April, after that there will be transportation by ferry to Montevideo.
