The first meeting of the resource mobilization group successfully took place in Barcelona on February 12. The group includes the Secretaries General of regional offices of UCLG, accountants and staff members of UCLG. It was created in order to solve the financial problems of UCLG and increase the budget of the organization.
It was the first meeting of the group. The current situation was analyzed and constraints and opportunities of the organization were identified during the meeting.
The meeting was held in the form of a brainstorming session. The issues of membership fees payment, the possibility of increasing the budget of the organization and financial strategy were discussed.
The members of the group were discussing new sources of revenue for the organization, such as attracting sponsors, grants, etc. A full report on the meeting with the accepted recommendations will be presented at the end of February.
