Dialogue of cultures: IV International Peace Forum was Held in Novosibirsk

The issues of the international cooperation and intercultural relations, the preservation of the values ​​of internationalism were discussed within the frameworks of the International Peace Forum that was held in Novosibirsk on June 22, 2019. The event took place for the fourth time and was devoted to the public diplomacy.

“The Peace Forum is a platform where we talk about the need to preserve the memory and values ​​of mutual assistance, internationalism, and help for peace. These values ​​are the basis of patriotic education,” said Anatoliy Lokot, Mayor of Novosibirsk.

Mayor of Novosibirsk recalled that over three years the issues of international cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, science, education, health, social development and social protection, projects to create a comfortable urban environment, ecology and technologies to ensure the life of the city were raised within the frameworks of the Peace Forum.

The central event of the forum was the round table “Public diplomacy – the dialogue of cultures. The peacemaking role of public diplomacy”. Its first part was devoted to the issues of public diplomacy and peacemaking. The discussion was attended by Chairman of the City Council of Novosibirsk Dmitriy Asantsev, Honorary Consul for the Kingdom of Spain in Novosibirsk in the Siberian Federal District Pablo Gaston Di Tata Francia, PR-Specialist of UCLG-Eurasia Anna Arkhipova, etc.

The second part of the meeting was focused on the role of young people in the development of public diplomacy as a generation that would take over the baton of patriotism from veterans – on the example of search and construction teams, volunteer movement and honor guards.
