We are pleased to invite you to take part in the main event of this autumn – the World Summit of Local and Regional Governments!
VI UCLG World Congress is an important event for local governments all around the world. This year, the Congress will be held within the frameworks of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of UCLG.
The UCLG World Congress is held once every three years and has gained an enviable reputation in the international community over the years of its existence. For many years this high-level event has been most frequently mentioned and expected by local and regional governments.
The Congress gathers over 3000 representatives of towns and cities, megalopolises and regions, civil society, business world and academia from all over the globe. This Congress is a great opportunity to make a report and present your city at the international arena.
During the Congress an election of governing bodies of the World Organization will be held. A president, co-presidents, vice-presidents, members of the World Council and the Executive Bureau of UCLG for 2019-2022 will be elected.
Durban is the third most populous city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is located in the eThekwini city district. Durban is the busiest port, one of the major centers of tourism.

15:00 –18:00 UCLG World Council. Elections of the President and Co-Presidents of UCLG for 2019-2022.
