Eurasia Regional Section of the World organization "United Cities and Local Governments"
These days Secretary-General of UCLG-Eurasia Rasikh Sagitov is on an official visit in the extreme north-east of Russia in Anadyr. The city of Anadyr is the administrative center of Chukotka Autonomous Region and is situated on the coast of Bering Sea, the area of permafrost.
The city is a member of the Eurasian Section of UCLG since 2006 and is the extreme point on the map of UCLG-Eurasia.
The prospects for interregional cooperation development were discussed; new agreements on participation of the city in the UCLG-Eurasia events were reached during the meeting with Mayor of the city I.Davidenko. Secretary-General of UCLG-Eurasia Rasikh Sagitov highlighted that “Anadyr holds an important place on the map of Eurasia. Hence Eurasia starts, hence a day on our large continent begins. We highly appreciate the support of Ilya Davidenko”.
The mayor of the city of Anadyr expressed readiness to continue to actively support and strengthen the activity of UCLG-Eurasia.
