Наследие и туризм: как противостоять климатическим изменениям?

IX International Conference of Eurasia World Heritage Cities will take place under the theme “Resilient Heritage and Tourism” in the city of Denpasar, Indonesia, from 28 April to 2 May, 2019.

Denpasar is the biggest and capital city of Bali with the population more than 500 000 people. Annually more than 5 million tourists visit the island attracted by its unique culture, ancient architecture, exotic goods and national cuisine.

The high-level conference will be held under the auspices of UNESCO with the participation of Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, and the heads of local and regional governments of the cities of the Eurasian and Asia-Pacific regions. The organizers of the Conference are the Denpasar Municipality, OWHC Euro-Asia and UCLG-Eurasia.

In the frameworks of the Conference we will discuss how to protect the World Heritage from the climate problems, how to save the tourist attractiveness of the cities facing extreme weather conditions and what contribution local leaders may make into implementing the SDG #13 “Climate actions”.

We are pleased to invite you to take part in the conference, make a report and present the projects of your city in the frameworks of the international exhibition. Reports presented during the conference will be included in the catalog of urban practices on heritage preservation in climate change and will contribute to the implementation of the Sendai Disaster Risk Reduction Program and the Paris Climate Agreement.
