Local Governments at the Global Table

Every July the city of New-York becomes the center of gravity for political forces under the auspices of the United Nations. 2019 is no exception. The High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development will take place on July 9-18 at the UN Headquarters. Within the frameworks of the forum national and local governments will share their results in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

All members of UCLG are invited to take an active part in the Forum of Local and Regional Authorities, which takes place as part of the event. A report on the role of local and regional governments in localizing global agendas will be presented there.

Thus, mayors will demonstrate a new reality to the world community: cities and regions are already implementing the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.
